This was an unusual year so our usual schedule got messed up. In the future, I'd like to go back to the general guideline that drafting be completed before the Fourth of July holiday. Shorter trading periods and doubling up rounds beginning at the $1m or $.500 mark should make that easy to accomplish.
Since trading has pretty much died down, do we.....
- eliminate the two week trading period period between the Rookie Draft and the Free Agent Draft (Trading would still be allowed during the Free Agent draft until the $2.0mil rounds are complete). - start the free agent draft on June 17. - Have four rounds per day instead of two rounds per day starting with the $0.5 mil rounds of the FA Draft
That would mean the $10.0 mil through $1.0 mil rounds of the FA Draft would be June 17-28 and the $0.5mil-$0.1mil rounds would be in July 1-3, and if we took the 4th of, July 5, then July 8 until we were done (Approx. July 12).
By tradition, we do not draft on Saturdays or Sundays. I would like to continue the practice, but we could decide to draft those days thereby reducing the draft length even more.
Unless there is immediate push back, here is the revised schedule:
Roster Cut Down week remains 5/26/19 - 6/1/19 Trial Rookie Draft remains 6/2/19, in the evening. Time TBD. More information will be sent out at a later date. Rookie Draft remains 6/10/19-6/14/19
Now the changes: Free Agent Draft will begin 6/17/19 instead of 7/1/19 >Two rounds per day until the $0.500M salary rounds. >Starting with the $0.500M salary rounds on 6/27/19 we will draft FOUR rounds per day. So four rounds per day for the $0.500M, $0.300M, and $0.100M salary rounds. >We will be finished with all but the $0.100M rounds on 6/28/19. >7/1/19 will start the $0.100M salary rounds. We will draft (four rounds per day but no drafting on 7/4/19) until the draft is complete.
If this will be a problem for you, please tell me in the next 48 hours or I will lock in this revised schedule.
