I am considering punting this year's rookie draft. Before I start doing research, I thought I would see if anyone wanted all my picks this year in exchange for rookie picks next year.
I own my 3rd, 6th and 7th - as well as Vancouver's 5th round picks.
I am willing to trade all of those for your 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th next year - or if you feel that is too many picks to give up next year - some combination of next year's picks. I am open.
Inverness trades their 2018 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th round rookie picks for Salem's 2017 3rd, 6th, 7th, and acquired Vancouver 5th round rookie picks. Salem to confirm.
Gentlemen, I have a little problem with the concept behind this trade and wonder if it is something we might want to discuss. Hypothetically, what if Inverness decides to quit next year leaving us with having to get a new owner for a team with very few draft picks? I don't think my hypothetical applies to Steve and Jeff's trade specifically, since they are two of our longest standing and most dedicated members. But this does raise the more general question as to whether this is a good practice. Would we think differently if this same trade involved two brand new members without the track record of participation we have with Salem and Inverness? To be clear, I am not objecting to this trade, however eye-opening it is - just wondering in general about trades that could dramatically effect a team's future competitiveness.
Honestly, its been an incredibly busy spring for me. I usually do an extensive amount of research on the draft but haven't found the time - and with so few picks and my first pick in the 3rd round - I love the idea - that is why I proposed it!
The point is not wether you love this trade. The point is are these kinds of trades good for the league. I'm not opposed to the trade. But Steve's point is well taken.

I agree and it is one of the reason's I floated the idea that only picks in the next upcoming draft could be traded during our rule change proposal period. Unfortunately, there was no support for it. However, I continue to feel it is worthy of consideration.
This trade has been recorded since there is nothing in the rules to prevent it and I don't see an outpouring of support to have the trade committee review it.
