Current Rule: 11.2: 11.2 - These changes will be made to the setup spelled out in rules 11.3. Season Usage Penalties = Yes in regular season, Yes in post-season Mild – 110% Moderate – 115% Major - 120% Game Usage Penalties = Yes in both regular season & post-season Mild – 15% Moderate – 30% Major - 45% Injuries – Yes to all in regular season & post-season Realistic multi-game Temporary in-game/fatigue Pre-set injuries Post-game injuries
Post-Season length will be set as follows: Season Length 17 for WC playoff game Season Length 18 for Division playoff game Season Length 19 for Conference Championship playoff Season Length 20 for Super Bowl
Proposed change: The fatigue levels to increase every round of the playoffs by 6% per round
Explanation: The first thing is that we didn't follow the post season length to just extend the season to 17-18-19 and then 20 weeks for postseason. We relied on pc actions playoff system which was obviously screwed up. The fatigue calculations were wrong and the playoff games were being played in September unless the hosting team made the switch. And even if the hosting team made the switch there was 0% chance of precipitation therefore no rain or snow in our playoffs. OK now my explanation for increasing fatigue % per round. Our players statistics are based on a 16 game season but playoff teams are obviously playing more games hence their fatigue levels should increase per round. I just divided 16/100 to get 6.25% and rounded down. I'm in 4 other leagues and all of them follow this format and 0 problems in 10 years. Except they add 10% per round.
I intend to strictly use the Playoff Bracket system in the game going forward. It was not strictly used last season.
If the playoff brackets in the game are properly used for the playoffs, 6% is automatically added for each round. I have confirmed that with Dave Koch of Action PC, and I have tested it myself to confirm it works.
As I intend to use the Playoff Brackets exclusively going forward, this change is not necessary.
I was disappointed in DKSports reply to our inquiry on this matter this past post-season as I'm still unclear as to the math determining post-season fatigue and usage, especially in regard to a backup QB like McCown. Anything that makes the rules more consistent is a good thing. A more transparent explanation by the game maker would be a better thing.
I completely agree with Mark's analysis. I, too, independently have confirmed with Dave and through my own testing that using the game's playoff bracket does indeed add 1/16 (6.25%) season fatigue for each round played using the playoff bracket. I agree with Mark that the EXCLUSIVE use of the game's playoff bracket is the only remedy needed.
I would consider calling these settings guidelines. That gives the option for league officials to change a setting if it isn't working correctly without a league vote.
