The KRFL season begins with this announcement. Good luck to everybody and have a fun year!

Expect a follow-up email by Tuesday via Yahoo Groups that will include the League File (with the Schedule) along with two zipped files containg team fields and logos (see below). Sorry that this announcement is a little tardy but we had a hiccup putting together the schedule. It's important that everybody follow the instructions below so consider this notice a mandatory must read.

Game Update
DK Sports has released a new service update (8/28). Please get it at http://www.dksports.com/service.htm and install it before playing this week.

Team Fields
I have accumulated, and in most cases made, individual fields for each team. The league file has been modified assigning the fields to each team so you'll need to download FIELDS-krfl.zip and unzip it into dksports-data/football/Stadiums. (Make sure you don't unzip it into dksports-data/football/Stadiums/FIELDS-krfl/). I'm excited to hear what you think about the fields I collected and made. If you hate your field, you can always change it back to the generic field under Organize/Team Logos, Fight Songs, and Stadiums in the game.

Team Logos
Ditto the Team Fields above but unzip LOGOS-krfl.zip into dksports-data/football/TeamLogos/.

Scheduling Your Game
Please contact your opponent by Wednesday to schedule this week's game and suggest a number of times that you can be available to play. Current email addresses are available in the game under Organize/Team Information. If you don't get a reply by midnight Friday, report the communication problem to the Commissioner and then feel free to seek a substitute. The KRFL expects every member to schedule games in a timely fashion and expects every member to play every game head to head. Penalties for failure to play and rewards for volunteering as a substitute are listed in the League Constitution.

Reporting Game Results
Results of each week's games need to be sent in to Jerry, the League Statistician, by the next Monday night (in this case, Sept. 1st.) Please DO NOT send in game results through Yahoo as it messes up the file. Instead, the hosting team should simply click on the SEND button that pops up at the conclusion of a game OR submit it by email in zipped form with the league name, week, and teams in the subject (i.e., "KRFL-wk 2-BRX@INV"). The next week's league file will be compiled and released on the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

Waiver Wire Opens
Waiver claims can be made anytime during the week through noon of the next Monday but won't be processed until the release of next week's league file. Waiver Claims throughout the season will be awarded based upon the previous year's draft order during week one and the game's Power Rankings thereafter. Waiver contracts are only for the current season. All Waiver Claim Players will become free agents at the end of that KRFL season. The salary cap increases to $93m with the start of the season.
