Current Rule: See salaries below. Proposed Change: See salaries below: Justification: In the NFL, the top 5-10 picks get significantly higher salaries than later picks. See https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/draft/2019/. So I am proposing a similar salary scale whereby the salary of the top 8 picks is increased to reflect what happens in the NFL. Why 8? Because that is where the current cut-off is in the rules. It may also discourage "tanking" which some members believe is an issue.
Picks / Current Salary / Proposed Salary 1-2 / $1.5 Million / $3.0 Million 3-4 / $1.5 Million / $2.75 Million 5-6 / $1.25 Million / $2.25 Million 7-8 / $1.25 Million / $2.0 Million
My feeling on this depends on where the other amendment(delay rookie salaries a year) goes.... if that passes, this becomes more acceptable with the extra year to evaluate and decide; if it remains under the current structure; I would say 'no'.... we have several proposals to help the weaker teams rebound in this year's amendments, why hurt them with additional cost burdens....

So we don't want KRFL to reflect what happens with the top picks in the NFL? Why not?
The NFL salary cap goes up year by year. KRFL does not. We used to limit how much a player could make ($10 million). Now we don't. Now you want to increase a rookie's salary, but again - the cap stays the same. Players salaries keep rising in our league, but the amount we have to spend has stayed the same.
