Team Rescue Plan Proposal

( Proposal in event comprehensive package is not approved )

5.2 DELETED
5.2 Team Rescue Plan

-any team which finishes in the bottom 4 of the league ( based on winning percentage ) for 2 consecutive seasons may eliminate any two veteran contacts without penalty and get a supplemental first round draft pick ( pick 25 ) in year 3. A team may not use the same season to count for more than one rescue plan. i.e... if you use seasons 2020 and 2021 to qualify, then you can not use 2021 and 2022 to qualify.

This proposal would take effect immediately upon passing so teams could use seasons 2019 and 2020 in order to qualify for the team rescue plan.

Reason for Proposal

This proposal creates a safety net for failed franchises , a bankruptcy provision which allows teams to rebuild.

when are you proposing this go into effect? 2020, based on 2018 + 2019 records; or 2022,, based on 2020 + 2021 records

Why not implement it immediately for the upcoming season?

We will not have nor vote on multiple derivations of the same proposal. Unless Jim posts something different, I'll assume it goes into effect in "2022,, based on 2020 + 2021 records" as Jim posted above.

I think this should be voted on and implemented immediately if it passes rather than waiting to see how the next two years play out. I'm assuming Jim could "amend" his proposal prior to voting, correct?

I just amended the proposal so it would take effect immediately.
The purpose of this comment period is to discuss the merits of the proposal and make any changes necessary to meet any rational objections.

This is the only part of the package(plan) I’m in favor of.

To me, this promotes tanking. An extra 1st round pick?? I would definitely vote no on this one.
