Continuing some work on the history of the league. Here are the top 10 offenses in KRFL history.
Honorable mention: 2002 Bensalem. The Bobcats offense had the 3rd most yards in KRFL history with 406 per game, but scored just 26.1 points per game thanks to Kurt Warner's 21 INTs and 11 fumbles.
1. 2001 Utica Fighting Flies - 39.1 points per game, 424 yards per game Led by a good (though surprisingly not great) offensive line (three 8 rated OLS, a 7 and 5.5), Charlie Garner ran wild on the league. 1595 yards, 6.0 YPC with 21 rushing TDs. He also had 76 catches and 15 receiving TDs. QB Jeff Garcia completed 67.7% of his passes for 4220 yards despite his best WR having just 58 catches. On paper, this isn't the greatest offense - but they somehow put it all together.
2. 2004 Kendall Mean Machine 36.6 points per game, 415 yards per game Ahmad Green. 2227 yards, 6.5 yards per carry. 34 TDs! Running behind a massive OL (Two 10 rated - Steve Hutchinson and Willie Roaf, plus an 8 and two 7's), Green was unstoppable. With teams needing to stop the run, Kendall got the most out of their mediocre QB - Aaron Books, who threw for 3246 yards and 20 TDs - with only 2 INTs. Chad Johnson led all WRs with 81 catches and 1151 yards.
3. 2003 Brat Bombers 32.9 points per game, 402 yards per game The Bombers had a very balanced attack. QB Rich Gannon completed 71.8% of his throws for 4156 yards and 34 TDs - with just 4 INTs. A 114.7 QB rating!
But that was only half the equation. The other half - Ricky Williams. 2088 yards, 5.4 ypc with 29 TDs.
4. 2016 Alabama Hawks - 32.7 points per game, 392 yards per game Carson Palmer led the way - 4406 yards, 31 TDs and only 4 INTs. He threw to two WRS with over 1000 yards - Stefon Diggs and Jordan Matthews. Devonta Freeman led a ground attack - 1090 yards and 15 TDs.
5. 2012 Bronx Cyclones - 32.3 points per game, 379 yards per game Matthew Stafford put up a show. 4131 yards, 42 TDs while throwing to a trio of receives - Marques Colston (932 yards, 10 TDs) Kellen Winslow (77 Catches, 7 TDs) and AJ Green (1095 yards, 12 TDs).
Reggie Bush was dynamite on the ground - 1434 yards with 8 TDs running behind this line - 10, 9, 8, 8, 7)
6. 2005 Table Mountain Tenacity - 32.3 points per game, 371 yards Shaun Alexander put up a monster season -1532 yards and 20 TDs. The team was very efficient - Daunte Culpepper threw for only 3224 yards, but 34 TDs. No receiver had more than 810 yards!
7. 2014 Penn State Lions - 32.3 points per game, 356 yards per game The Penn State operation was truly a team oriented approach. 2 QBs played - Josh McCown threw for 1900 yards and 19 TDs, while Alex Smith threw for 1430 yards and 13 TDs. Andre Johnson caught 109 passes in real life, but just 64 for the Lions. Matt Forte (1176 yards and 14 TDs) and Rashad Jennings (859 yards, 8 TDs) led the ground attack that had only 2 Lineman rated 7 or above.
8. 2005 Kendall Mean Machine - 32.3 points per game, 334 yards per game The 2nd time Kendall appears on this list, one year after their 2nd ranked offense. Once again Ahman Green runs wild -1405 yards, 6.1 avg, 17 TDs - behind a studly line - a t10 and two 9 ranted OL with a mediocre QB at the helm - Jake Delhomme - 3041 yards, 30 TDs - his QB rating over 20 points higher than it should have been.
9. 2016 Inverness Infidels - 31.9 points per game, 387 yards per game Not only did the Infidels have Chris Johnson - 2065 yards and 14 TDs, Ray Rice was their backup - 817 yards, 5 TDs. Try stopping the run, then Ben Roethlisberger will beat you - 71.5%, 3354 yards and 38 TDs with only 7 INTs.
10. 2005 Bay City Beavers - 31.8 points per game, 401 yards per game. This is the 3rd offense from 2015! Where is the defense, 2015!!!
I still have nightmares facing this team. LaDainian Tomlinson and his 1946 yards - 6.0 per carry, running behind that massive trio of Alan Faneca (10+), Walter Jones (10) and Will Shields (9) with FB Tony Richardson (7 run blocking) leading the way. A young Drew Brees -3482 yards and 40 TDs throwing to a the pair of Marvin Harrison and TJ Houshmandzadeh, was a super difficult team to defend.
