Salem trades Aaron Donald, Ronald Darby, and Wayne Gallman to Rolling Green for RGG 2020 1st and 3rd round picks RGG 2021 1st and 3rd round picks and Kaleb McGary, Nick Vannett, Coty Sensabaugh and Wes Horton
RGG will pick up a FA to fill the roster once the trade has been processed.
I never thought this day would come, but Aaron Donald has left the building. It was too good of an offer to pass. Good luck to Rolling Green - who now own 3 ten rated players on defense!
I have always been against teams being allowed to trade draft picks beyond the next draft (i.e. trading 2021 picks at the current time). I started a thread on the subject in the past and got pushed back.
Admittedly, I am biased this time because this trade directly effects me as I am in the same division as RGG. But I still think we should not be allowed to trade draft picks beyond the next draft.
Furthermore, not that SAL is breaking any rules with their trades this year, but perhaps the time has come to establish a minimum salary cap teams need to stay above? This trade drops SAL's total team, salary to $63.95mil. I'd suggest a minimum salary of $70-$75 million.
RE: RGG will pick up a FA to fill the roster once the trade has been processed
There is no roster spot to fill. McGary, as a 2020 Rookie, does not count against the 52 player roster. Excluding McGary, this is a three player for three player trade.
I think a cap floor is a good idea. Something we should put on the ballot. I have no problem with trading future picks, but also something we can consider this offseason.
