Welcome to the start of the 2016 KRFL Regular Season, KRFL's 16th season. There is some VERY IMPORTANT information in this message. PLEASE READ this ENTIRE MESSAGE.

Game Version
Before you play any games, please verify you have the 5-24-2016 version of the game. In the game go to Help, About. If yours is not this version, go to http://www.dksports.com/service.htm, download and install that version.

Week #1 League File

The Week #1 League file can be found in the League Files section of the website. Results are due Tuesday, September 20 at 10pm Eastern. If all results are in before that, the week #2 will be released early.

Submitting Game Results

Send the games results and box score (the “.xbx” file generated by the game an d the “.htm” game box score) to BOTH the commissioner AND to the KRFL Yahoo Group. A game summary/write-up would be appreciated and adds to the fun of the league.

Weekly Reporting Deadline
The deadline for reporting game results is TUESDAY evenings at 10PM EASTERN USA time again this season. THIS DEADLINE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. I do NOT want to have to sim games, but I will if any game is not submitted by this deadline. With this Tuesday deadline, the new league files should be released no later than 10am Wednesday morning, and will most like be available by 1am Wednesday.

Game Play
Just a reminder of some of our KRLF rules for games:
• No limits on onside kicks, hurry up, or slow down offenses.
• No Play Clock.
• We follow 2015 NFL rules, included the new Point After Touchdown rule.
All games are to be played head-to-head over the internet. The home team typically will host the game but that is not required. The hosting team is required to submit the game results to the Commissioner.

Hamachi
DK Sports has created a Hamachi "League Lobby" for KRFL. To log on, use the following in Hamachi:
Network Name: Knute Rockne Football League
Network Id: 338-199-859
Password: krfl

Users will need the HamachiLogMeIn client installed on their computer to use the networks. This is a free download: https://www.vpn.net/
The free Hamachi client allows users to connect with up to 5 others users.

Free Agent Claims
Post free agent claims at http://aaroncraneinstitute.com/football/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewforum.php?29 in the format:
INVERNESS claims RB Jim Brown; cuts RB Harry Plodder.

Players signed as free agent are NOT retained after the season, they will have a 2016 salary of $0.5 million and the salary of the player you release continues to count against your salary cap.

All waiver claim free agent must meet the Tuesday at 10pm Eastern game reporting deadline to be considered valid for the next week's games.

Trading Period Open

The Trading Period is now open and will remain open until the Week #4 Reporting Deadline (October 11, 2016). PLEASE NOTE this is a change from past season when the trade deadline was at Week #8. This was a change voted on and passed this past off season.

Team Logo’s and Home Fields
If you have not downloaded and installed the league team logos and fields, I have saved them in the "Misc Files" link on the website which is under the "League Info" menu on the top left hand size of the page.
• The Logo's are in a compressed (.zip) file called "2016 KRFL Logos". You need to download, save and extract the contents of this file to your dksports-data/football/teamlogos folder.

• The fields are in a compressed file called "2016 KRFL Fields". You need to download, save and extract the contents of this file to your dksports-data/football/stadiums folder.

If anyone has problems downloading these, let me know and I can try to email them to you. However, the Fields files is quite large and your internet provider may not let you receive it by email.

Non-Compliant Rosters
Southwest Florida (four line backers vs. required six), Penn State (no LS), Salem (no LS) have non-compliant rosters. SW Florida has been fined $1.0mil and Penn St. and Salem have been fined $0.500 mil each for both this season and next season. The team owners are aware of this. Each team needs to make their rosters complaint BEFORE Week #2 or, as per league rules, the League Office will act to bring a team into compliance as follows: players will be assigned by alphabetical listing of free agents at the given position and players will be cut on the basis of the lowest salaried player and then by alphabetical order.

-------------------------------
Lets have another fun and enjoyable season. If you have any questions, please post it in the forums on the league website or send me an email.
