I'm just gonna throw this out there for discussion. I'm in one league that we use use the rookie projections for the current drafted rookie class. I love it as you don't have to wait a year to use your rookies and it makes it much harder to just trade those picks away. It also adds strategy when drafting your free agents because its timed where you do rookie draft before the projections disk comes out. Just an idea.
I would love to see KRFL add this. But I think we'd need to consider expanding from 24 to 28 teams at the same time. Doing this introduces another 125-150 players into the league and many of these rookies will get better ratings than some of the veterans on our teams. So I fear with 24 teams, a lot of them start looking more like All-Pro teams than a "average" NFL team roster.
I agree with Mark's assessment on this completely. I wouldn't have a problem using projection disk for the rookies initial year, but it would have to go hand in hand with expanding to 28 teams. With only 24 teams our teams look like all-pro teams too much as is, IMHO.
