Since no team forfeited draft picks for having to use a substitute coach during the 2016 season, an extra rookie draft pick at the end of the 5th round will be awarded to one substitute coach via a lottery. The lottery will be held on March 31, 2017.
Based on the substitute coaches in 2016, the following teams have earned chances in the lottery: Rolling Green-2 Tampa Bay-2 Bay City-1 River City-1 Cleveland-1
The ending two digits after the decimal point of the closing price of the Dow Jones Industrial Average on 3/31/17 will be used For example, if the closing price is 20,661.30, the number used will be 30. Yahoo Finance will be the official source for the final closing price. The numbers assigned to each team are:
Rolling Green: 01-28 Tampa Bay: 29-56 Bay City: 57-70 River City: 71-84 Cleveland: 85-98
00 and 99 are not used. If either of those are the closing price on 3/31, then the 3/31 lottery will be void and the closing price the next day the market is open (4/3) will be used. This process will be repeated until a lottery winner is determined.
The Dow Jones closed at 20,663.22 today. So the number is "22". As a result, Rolling Green wins the lottery and gains the extra 5th round rookie draft pick. Congrats to Steve Ward.
