Although I strongly support my other proposal to modify the way the draft order, if it does not pass, I suggest we pass this proposal to clean up the language in rule 5.1
CURRENT RULE: 5.1 All non-playoff teams will be ranked on the following tie-breaking factors: a. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games among the clubs) b. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division c. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games d. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference e. Strength of victory f. Strength of schedule g. Best net points in common games h. Coin toss
PROPOSED CHANGE: 5.1 - All non-playoff teams will be first ranked by record (worst record having the first pick and best record having the last pick) with on the following tie-breaking factors: a. Worst Head-to-head (won-lost-tied percentage in games among the clubs) drafts earliest b. Worst won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division drafts earliest c. Worst won-lost-tied percentage in common games drafts earliest d. Worst won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference drafts earliest e. Worst Strength of Victory Percentage drafts earliest f. Worst Strength of schedule drafts earliest g. Worst net points in common games drafts earliest h. Coin toss
Explanation: Historically, the first determination of draft order is a team's overall record. Yet that factor is not even included in rule 5.1. So it would be added along with clarification of which team draft's earliest in the tie breakers. These modifications which make it more clear what happens to determine draft order.
Again I STRONGLY disagree. I think all tiebreakers should be given to the team with the BEST H2H, the BEST SOS, etc. Helps promote winning instead of rewarding losing.
